Greetings from Stuttgart,Germany

Hi, I just wanted to drop a short intro. My nickname is photojazz (my hobbies are photography and jazz drumming), I wanted to make my login golfphotojazz but my daughter said it sounded "stupid". I am a retired US Army Officer, now working as an Oracle DBA and live in the great village of Stuttgart-Hofen.

I began trying to learn golf a fonth ago at the ripe young ag of 53! I am a member of the Stuttgart Golf course, have my own clubs and taking lessons from a young PGA pro.

The golf club is 10 mins from my home and I try to go there twice a week.

Golf is addictive as they say and I subsrcibed to several mags, I love to read.

As I previously stated golf is new to me and I want to learn as much as I can. Don't have any previous knowledge or experiences but hope I can add my .02 at some point.

Do you have any photos of your home course that you could share? I always enjoy looking at photos of golf courses abroad.

be careful and only read those magazines for entertainment purposes. Some of those tips are quite awful. I swear they just make crap up. Afterall, after making a magazine for 30 odd years how many new tips can you possibly come up with? And if they truly know what they are talking about then why has the national handicap never improved? One person's interpretation of a feeling might be completely different from anothers. Kids who start young become scratch golfers at an early age because they don't become subjected to all the garbage. They just go out and hit it without much thought. Teach them a decent grip and how to aim and let em' go and watch them get better. Everything else will become natural. Remember when you first threw a ball? did someone tell you to wind up your upper body, turn your shoulder under your chin, turn your hips, then clear your hips and release your wrist so the ball snaps out of your hand?? NO! you just threw it without thought and it was easy. Why is golf so damn hard to most people when the ball doesn't even move? Most people overcomplicate things and when they find a bit of success they think it's too good to be true. If you can hit just one 7-iron high and straight on a perfect line(or even a draw or fade) about 155 yards then their is no reason you can't prouce that shot 80% of the time
