Those with consistency problems - maybe try this

This is something I got from reading Hogan's book. Works well for me when I do it - which is, keep that upper arm connected to the same spot on your chest throughout the backswing. Gently lock that sucker against the outside edge of your left nipple (for right handers) and keep it there all the way back. Your consistency will improve nicely and you'll stike the ball more crisply.

To see what I'm talking about, point your left arm straight toward the monitor right now. Then, turn your palm until it faces the ceiling. Next gently pull your upper arm back until it contacts the left side of your chest. That contact of upper arm against the chest is the feeling you want to recreate when hitting balls.

Try it, it may help!
