no, but take your time deciding. Do you want a deep faced 3-wood that is better suited for the tee or a shallow face that is easier to get airborne from the fairway? I have no problem getting the ball airborne so I use an Old Nike T40 15 degree forged 3-wood. The center of gravity is higher than all the newer 3-woods designed to hit the ball higher. I need a flatter trajectory that doesn't balloon. My 3-wood is very versatile. I can tee off with it and hit it from the fairway. Depending on the course I may take it out of my bag and exchange it with my Nike forged T40 17 degree 4-wood. Decide what kind of trajectory you want, what loft you need and how far you wish to carry it in the air. I recommend a higher loft(around 15 degrees), then use a stiffer shaft to adjust the flight and decrease ballooning. More loft=more control(less sidespin), a stiffer shaft with a stiffer tip=more control, less ballooning. Good luck!

How do you like the Nike 4 Wood? I've been wanting to add a 4 wood to my bag as my in-between club when a 3 wood is too long (and I dont hit it terribly well off the fairway) and my rescue club which I've been using in its' place. I can hit the rescue club fairly well but it doesn't put me where I need to be on my 2nd shot on the long par 5's.

the 4-wood is great. It's the older Nike forged club from about 2001? or so. Duval and Woods played them. Face is very hot with a flat, boring trajectory. No Ballooning. Stock shaft is garbage which is why club didn't sell so good. I am currently sticking Accuflex shafts in my three woods that I use, Nike Forged driver, forged 15 degree 3-wood and forged 17 degree 4-wood...

i play a Callaway Steelhead Plus, which i barely chose over the original steelhead, its just a matter of preferance. fairway woods aren't like drivers, youre not trying to hit the fairway wood as far as possible every time (or maybe i only do that with my driver, lol) its more about controlablly advancing the ball farther than an iron
