$349.99 @ GolfSmith

A buddy of mine played with one. He said it was pretty awesome and tells you where to lay up and other hazards but one catch was there was either a 6 mo/yearly fee for the service.

Nice, Thanks for the post.

A local course here had really nice EZ-GO Gas golf carts with windows and full protection (windows and rear) and GPS inside, they sold the golf course and a year later they where back to crap carts. It was really nice to have, and the protection was nice to have as well when it was raining or really windy and cold, which is very common here in Chicago even throughout the Spring/Fall months.

I have one and it does what it is advertised to do. Bought 5 and had my local course set up. It is really accurate to front, back and center of the green. Courses can be downloaded from the Sky Caddy web site and the Caddy is really helpful when your on a strange course. Besides how could you go wrong if Natalie Gulbis is your spokesperson??

What was the monthly fee, and any long term committments? It seems like anything wireless these days you have to worry about a year or two committment.

Sky Caddy does include costs to download courses. The very best package they have costs $49.95 a year and is titled Eagle membership. I have never needed to have more courses in my package than this.

These things are awesome. I have shot my best 2 rounds ever using one. The 2008 mode is now out the SG5 a little easier to see. The SG2 is no longer in producetion but some still are for sale. In my opinion they are the best unit value for the $ at $259 Cost for the SG3 is $299.95 the SG4 is $349.95 the SG5 is $429.95 I also sell these if you have any ? please ask. Yes you could even get a discount as forum member.

sky caddie

I received a sky caddie for Christmas and want to give my observations so far.
1. Don't trust the belt clip!! You may think you put the gps in right, but when you have to go back to the middle of the last fairway to find it on the ground, you don't trust it anymore.

2. Some times it comes up with this: an 87 yard shot leaves you 237 yards to the green. Really. Thanks for that.

If anyone has any other info, i'd like to hear it.
