Anyone use "pured" or "spined" shafts?

I'm getting into clubmaking a little (ok, only done grips so far) and am considering reshafting my driver (975D, 9.5). I hit it well and love the (relatively) smaller size but suffer from some inconsistency. I was considering goin' balls out and getting a Grafalloy Prototype Comp NT and getting it "pured." Anyone have actual experience with this process?

For those who don't know, the short version is that each shaft has an ideal "axis" around which its flex is much more consistent. "Puring" or "spining" involves lining up this axis in a specific relation the clubhead to achieve more consistent kick. Or something like that.....

I Play A Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Ft-3 With A "pured" Aldila Nv 65 Stiff Shaft. I Am Now Hitting My Drives Much Straighter, And I Hit One 335 Yards The Other Day!

Puring: most shafts aren't made "perfectly round" u might get lucky on some of the high end shafts. but you find the strongest part of the shaft and point it at the target.

Spining or Puring a shaft is real. The trick is getting it put in the head correctly. I would say if your going to spend that much on a shaft have it pured & put in correclty. If you are being charged more than $20 to pull & spine a shaft in my opinion it is not worth it unless you can win it back in a week or two on the course. Most golfers handicap 10 or higher will never get the benifit from pured shaft.

I had some Tom Wishon irons that had the shafts pured and some that weren't; No difference.

I also has some iron shaftes that were spined to a "draw bias" angle and it's all BS!

"Pure" your swing and it will "spine" your irons for you and make all the difference in the world.

Like I said before. If you are going to spend much on the shaft have it pured or spined. On newer shafts the spine will most likely be 90* off the logo. Shaft makers are becoming much smarter & sending them thru the paint machine according to a quick spine find machine. That way if the shaft ever ends up on TV it will show the logo instantly.

The $200-$300 shafts I've spent any money on have all been spined "/" pured before installed by the club maker. That SHOULD kinda goes hand/hand, doesn't it?

Please enlighten us all as to how the benefit is more appreciated by a lower than 10-capper, as opposed to a 10+ capper?

I'm down there and it makes NO difference to me.... Pro
