Too much Tiger

Is anybody out there getting a bit tired of all Tiger, all the time? -Yes, I know he is good in most ways for golf.
-Yes he may be the best ever.

......But, it seems there are other golfers worth talking about that would give some balance to the coverage.

Ogilvy frustrated by Woods situation

Geoff Ogilvy admits it is frustrating to play in tournaments that most people assume only Tiger Woods can win.

Australian Ogilvy ended the world number one's amazing winning streak on Monday - Woods had won his previous seven events - with victory in the CA Championship in Miami.

"It's frustrating that everyone in the world basically says no-one else is trying," said Ogilvy. "He is too good a lot of the time, but it doesn't mean we're not trying."

He added: "Since day one he hasn't lost many tournaments when he's gone out on Sunday in the last group.

"He's such a special player but the frustrating thing is that people think we're flying the white flag.

"When he gets on a streak, you know it's going to end (sooner or later) and I know I'm going to win more tournaments, and I can handle that.

"It's the chit-chat about 'is he going to win every tournament this year?'. That's frustrating to hear."

wow, in all honesty i don't blame that player for feeling that way,
i mean don't get me wrong, i like tiger woods,
but i mean there are other players too and i just seems
wrong that no one else gets recognized for what they do.

I am not a huge Tiger fan but, honestly there are 2 golfers who play on the PGA tour and one is Tiger and the other is whoever steps up that week to battle him. I hate when the media says who is going to be Tiger's rival. The field is his rival. The course is his rival. Bad luck is his rival. Deep down those guys know if he plays well THEY CANT WIN. It doesn't make them cowards because it is on the verge of becoming fact. I want you guys to go back and look at Nick Price and his numbers in the 90's He was the winniest golfer in that decade. I remember them saying he was the best golfer since Nicklaus. Nobody even knows who he is now because of the number of tournaments Tiger wins. He is taking the accomplishments of past players and just diminishing them before our eyes. I believe when he is done he will be considered the best athlete of all time. We are lucky to see him. Keep in mind when you are watching golf on your 52 inch hdtv and you see the shot tracers and 45 different camera views during a tournament ...it is all because of Tiger. He is the reason those guys are getting paid $750,000 to finish second when 10 years ago that was a good showing on the west coast swing.
