golf season

when does your season begin and end?

We live in a fairly mild climate and it's not uncommon to see people hitting the courses as early as February. I drove past a course over the weekend there were quite a few people out already (or still). Granted, it was in the mid-high 60s over the weekend, but I wonder if anyone's season never end? It seems like we may have a cold snap that sends people off of the greens, but it doesn't take long before they're lined up again.

I live in the Northeast and we play all year long unless it snows. My tournament schedule runs from March 21st thru November 6th. However, a regular group of guys meet at a local club every day weather permitting. On a 35 degree day we might have as many as 28 people show. We pick teams, throw money in a hat and go hit it. We will play if the temp is around freezing as long as their is no wind. If it's a windy day then the temp better be around 45 degrees or so for us to play. Tomorrow we are expected to have a record high near 70 ! I love. If global warming means playing golf all year long then I'm for it!! LOL, I really don't believe in global warming. The earth goes thru cycles like anything else. The ice bergs melt, land areas flood, water recedes, nature rebuilds. These global warming idiots like Gore realize most people don't understand geology or the history of our planet. He throws out some feed and the sheep it eat !!!! Say you??

ummm....brrrr I'm a bit of a baby and don't think I could hit the course in the colder weather. I think my season would have to be about March to June...not too hot, not too cold. Maybe that's why I'm not very good

Every day? There must be some really understanding spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends out there. Of course, my family would be screamin' "what's for dinner?" and "why isn't the house spotless?" if I were to try and play everyday.

Around where I am from you can play very comfortably in the beginning of April and go all the way to the end of October/ beginning of November.

Phoenix, AZ Season

I now live in Phoenix, AZ so it's pretty much year round here. However here the summer is the worst time and not the winter. Last year I did go out and walk 18 holes in August when it was about 110 and boy was that a mistake! At least it was cheap! It's very cheap to play here in the summer for obvious reasons, but in the winter, prices skyrocket everywhere.

Similar to here in Southwest Florida. Right now is prime time, unlike the majority of the country.

I'm with Shanky,

We play all year here in SE Arizona, but you have to pay a premium price in the winter. Summer is nice, the snowbirds are all gone and the courses aren't crowded. Summer rates come in to effect April 15th and I can't wait!

Up north here in Montreal the course will open sometime in April but the real good conditions start early May and you can play at least till end of september in decent weather then october is all about wind, less their is the warmer it will be.

This year with the no snow winter till january, folks played almost till christmas but those are only the nuts... like me
