I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good websites that can give me the lowdown about courses in Southern California? I want to read reviews about the courses from golfers and see what the out-of-town rates are.
I'm visiting out there for a couple weeks in February. Plan on playing in the San Diego area.
go to Golfreview.com. the look up reviews under the heading "course" and then simply find the state you are looking for. The course will be then listed in alphabetical order. They rate everything on this site. Clubs, courses, you name it. You can even join and post your own reviews. My sisters live in Southern Cal and I visited quite a few times but never golfed. It certainly is beautiful and I would bet San Diego has some courses with ocean views. if you get a chance take a tour of that air craft carrier in the San Diego harbor. I believe it is called the "Nimitz" after a general. The San Diego zoo is also worth the trip alone......A gorgeous state but too crowded for me.... :O)
Hey Thanks Illegal_Alien. I did some searching around and found a site called Greenskeeper.org. Found a ton of recent reviews and information. I'll go check out golfreviews.com and see how it compares to greenskeeper.org.
Golfing with a view of the ocean. Man that sounds real nice.
I like it a lot so far. It's more focused then golfreviews regarding golf course information and the information is more current. Only covers California and Nevada although. I added to my favorites
Any updates on the site since you've used it more? I need to find one of these shortly myself and would appreciate info if you've felt your way around that site now and like it or dislike it.
