| What is your pre-putt routine? Title says it all folks...
First I remove my glove. For the past 4 years I have putted with my glove on. After wearing a glove, I have decided I can "feel" the club better w/o one on.
Then behind the ball and get my line. I typically do not look at my line from every angle. I have found that my first look at the line is normally the right one and looking at it from other angles just gives my mind more than I need to compute. On occation I will get different views of the line. Normally on really long snake putts. I will find a spot about 2 feet in front of the ball that I want the ball to travel over to find the hole.
I step over my ball and while keeping a eye on the spot the whole time. Once I line up properly I completely forget about that spot and the "line". I now focus on my power. I get the best read from behind so me rethinking my shot from over the ball will cause a miss, but I digress...
I will step away from the ball about 4 inches and take 2 or 3 swings to guage my power. I step up to the ball and hit.
I maybe 3 putt 1 time a round. I have many 1 putts and no matter how far away or how crooked the line I will 70% of the time 2 putt. I think I avaraged about 1.75 putts per hole last round and that is fairly typical.
