| no, but take your time deciding. Do you want a deep faced 3-wood that is better suited for the tee or a shallow face that is easier to get airborne from the fairway? I have no problem getting the ball airborne so I use an Old Nike T40 15 degree forged 3-wood. The center of gravity is higher than all the newer 3-woods designed to hit the ball higher. I need a flatter trajectory that doesn't balloon. My 3-wood is very versatile. I can tee off with it and hit it from the fairway. Depending on the course I may take it out of my bag and exchange it with my Nike forged T40 17 degree 4-wood. Decide what kind of trajectory you want, what loft you need and how far you wish to carry it in the air. I recommend a higher loft(around 15 degrees), then use a stiffer shaft to adjust the flight and decrease ballooning. More loft=more control(less sidespin), a stiffer shaft with a stiffer tip=more control, less ballooning. Good luck! |
