The new NBA bargaining agreement includes something that many college hoops fans have probably been hoping for quite some time now...an age limit. Although it's not the 20 year old limit that had been proposed, no players will be eligible to be drafted until they're either 19 (internationals) or one year past their high school graduation date (Americans).

This still doesn't guarantee that all the top high schoolers will go to college (some may choose to attend a prep school for a year still), but the majority still will. I think it will make it tougher for a college coach to gauge who will jump after a year and who will not, but in the long run I believe it will help these kids. They'll be forced to play against higher level competition and gain some fundamental team skills prior to entering professional play. Those that can't handle it will either fail in college or be humbled into realizing they need more time to develop in college, as NBA teams likely won't be willing to take a risk on the youngsters if they have proven to be shaky on the collegiate level. I really hope this works out for both the NCAA and the NBA.
