| I'd love to bring back caddies but think the reason that scores haven't improved is still the same as always... not enough practice. The average weekend guy just drives to the course, hits about 20 range balls hoping he can get it airborne and then hits the first tee without adequate warm-up. Then, he loses so many strokes around the green (or from 100 yds in) that only practice can help - even with the advances in technology.
By the way, an overwhelming majority of golfers at my club walk (carrying or using a push cart) and they don't play any better than the riders. Maybe worse, because they are worn out by the 12th hole. |
